Over the years we have become highly skilled in 3 niche sectors, including business, private clients and specialist professionals, and we always pay close attention to any issues or new developments facing these sectors.

We work hard to ensure that our team truly believe in our vision and understand our values and culture. We are very much a people business and our management team reflect this.

Paul Macbeth ACII

Paul’s dynamic and enthusiastic nature and passion for his profession is the driving force behind the business. He has created a highly focused and responsive team that strongly supports and drives his vision for Macbeth.

Paul has 19 years tenure within the insurance broking sector and has attained three professional qualifications and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. In 2011 he was awarded the British Insurance Brokers Association Young Broker of the Year for the Central & South East England region.

He regularly contributes to leading industry and business publications and plays a highly active role in managing many of the company’s key clients and professional partnerships. He also mentors other local business owners using the same thought process and ethos used throughout Macbeth and its associated companies.

A product of the firm’s acclaimed trainee programme which he joined in 2000, Ben is responsible for the day to day running of the business as well as managing the needs of key clients. He has been an instrumental part of our success and his huge talent was acknowledged in 2011 when shortlisted for the Chartered Insurance Institute young achiever of the year award.

Tony Gibbs

For over 30 years Tony has worked closely with a wide range of commercial businesses all with distinctive and exacting insurance requirements. This is why Tony is ideally placed to manage and run the commercial division of our business and to contribute regularly to press articles published in the business insurance media space.

As a co-founder of the business, Tony has been influential in developing the company and ensuring that, despite its growth, the original key service principles remain in place.

Dennis Walsh FCII

Dennis started his career within the insurance industry over 35 years ago. He quickly qualified and at the age of 27 was one of the youngest candidates to become a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He has an extensive range of specialist knowledge across the mainstream commercial classes of insurance.

His prime areas of expertise lie within Business Combined and Directors’ & Officers’ Liability insurance. He is increasingly coming across organisations that are underinsured in these areas of cover or worse still, are devoid of cover completely.

“The commercial insurance market is constantly evolving and organisations are becoming continually exposed to new and challenging risks which are not covered by their existing policies. I am currently seeing a high proportion of claims made against organisations around emotionally related illnesses such as employee stress or harassment.

Similarly companies whilst they are protecting their premises and contents against fire and theft are leaving themselves highly exposed when it comes to minimising the interruption to the business. All too often I see businesses potentially failing because they have inadequate business interruption cover.
