Door supervisors insurance – Not all policies are the same

When it comes to insurance for the security sector not all policies are the same. Security companies that are providing door staff need to be particularly careful regarding the type of cover they are buying.

Insurance rates for door security companies have been increasing steadily over the past few years as claims in this area are not uncommon. Higher premiums have resulted in policyholders shopping around for lower rates.

The main concern is that the insurers offering the lower rates are likely to be compromising on cover by not providing insurance for deliberate acts.

Insurance for deliberate acts is probably the most important element of cover for door security companies.  In a scenario where a door supervisor uses too much force to eject a customer, it is vitally important that the insurance cover will respond. Companies without the correct insurance could face bankruptcy if faced with large claims that are not insured.

Macbeth only use insurance providers in the security sector that provide cover for deliberate acts, as we believe that this cover is essential for companies carrying out door work.

We have recently seen a reduction in the minimum premiums on door work insurance, with policies starting at figures in the region of £1,200.
