Event Insurance – Cover for Unforeseen Events

With lots of time, effort and money invested in to making sure an event goes well, it is important to have some insurance in place just in case there are some circumstances beyond the control of the organisers which could threaten the success of the event.

Provided that cover is organised well in advance, it is possible to arrange cover for adverse weather.  Torrential rain could have a massive impact on the attendance numbers, although for events like Glastonbury some could argue that rain and mud are all part of the atmosphere!

For major music events it is also possible to arrange non-appearance insurance on the acts scheduled to appear. The premium can be very high, depending on the popularity of the act or artist, their age and health and their previous track record.

The venue where the event is being held is likely to require public liability, whilst employer’s liability is a legal requirement even for casual or temporary staff.

Insurance cover for hired in equipment such as PA systems, lighting and marquees may also be necessary.
