A day in the life of a Client Manager

March 12, 2026

Working in the insurance world for the past eight years has shaped not just my career, but who I am. What I love most about Macbeth is that it’s a place where people genuinely matter — clients, colleagues, and the wider community. And that’s exactly what being a Client Manager here is all about: building relationships, doing right by people, and continually growing along the way. No two days are the same, so here are some insights as to what I get up to. It’s more than paperwork!

Putting Our Clients First

Every client relationship at Macbeth starts with trust. That means taking the time to understand who our clients are, what they value, and how we can support them in a way that feels personal and proactive.

Meeting clients in person, whether for reviews, on‑site surveys, or just a catch‑up is a great tool for building that trust. Being face‑to‑face brings clarity and connection you simply can’t replicate over email.

Networking With Meaning

Networking has become an important part of my professional life, with many events attended across the Thames Valley. I’ve built some genuine connections and I’m also proud to sit on the committee for Female Force, a local women’s networking group.

Macbeth has always encouraged genuine connection, and Female Force embodies that spirit — uplifting, supportive, and full of inspiring women from across the region.

Being part of the committee allows me to help shape events and create spaces where women feel empowered to grow in their careers.

Supporting the Next Generation

Macbeth places huge value on learning and development, and mentoring apprentices is something I take to heart. Sharing what I’ve learned over the years, helping them build confidence, and watching them find their strengths is incredibly fulfilling.

Continuous learning for everyone is part of life at Macbeth too. CPD is encouraged, supported, and genuinely embedded into the culture, whether through courses, insurers sessions, or training.

Giving Back to the Community

Charity work is a cornerstone of Macbeth’s culture. We’re passionate about supporting local causes, and our charity days are some of the most meaningful moments in the year. This year, we’re especially proud to have Helen & Douglas House as our Charity of the Year, an incredible organisation providing hospice care and support for children and their families.

We recently had a session where the Helen & Douglas House team came in to share more about the work they do. Hearing their stories, learning about the families they support, and understanding the impact of their care was incredibly moving. It brought home just how important our fundraising and volunteer efforts really are, and it made me even more grateful to be part of a company that prioritises giving back.

Taking time away from the day‑to‑day to support causes like this, whether through volunteering or fundraising reminds us what really matters. It’s something I’m genuinely proud to be part of.

Bringing People Together

I also run our social committee and it’s a role I absolutely love. Planning events, organising get‑togethers, and helping create a workplace where people feel connected is incredibly rewarding.

Strong culture doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through moments of laughter, shared experiences, and taking time to celebrate the wins, big or small. When people feel supported and happy at work, it naturally flows into the service we give our clients.

Looking Forward to the future at Macbeth

My eight years in the industry have taught me that client management is never just about policies or paperwork. It’s about people. It’s about listening, guiding, solving problems, and being there when it matters most.

Working at Macbeth has amplified that. It’s given me opportunities to grow, to mentor, to network, to support my community, and to build genuine, lasting relationships.

And the best part? I know there’s still so much more to learn.

If you’re looking for the same personal, proactive support, we’d be happy to help.
