Behind the scenes at Macbeth: A work experience story

Our work experience at Macbeth Insurance Brokers was truly eye-opening. From the first day, I felt like part of the family. The teams warm, family-orientated culture made both of us feel welcomed and comfortable to ask any question.

A business that truly cares

Macbeth goes beyond just ‘business’ – they genuinely care about their clients and each other which makes for a close-knit supportive bunch of professional individuals. I was also struck by the professionalism and the expertise, coming from a smaller company it was wonderful to see that even a larger firm keep the same meticulous standards.

The knowledge was outstanding, from industry trends, constantly searching for new ideas and policies which fascinated both myself and Luca especially in a fast-growing industry such as Cyber. The hands-on experience, which showed how Macbeth handle real challenges, taught me the importance of both skill and empathy in the insurance world.

The team at Macbeth also knows how to have fun! Who could say no to Italy! The planning team are run like a well-oiled machine, allowing great events to be held throughout the year. I didn’t expect to find such a fun side in the insurance industry but Macbeth really managed to incapsulate that you can work hard and play harder.

Commitment to growth and development

What stood out to us the most was how much Macbeth invests in developing their people. Even as a work experience student, I was given real responsibilities and real tasks, and the team made sure we both learned something new every day. This commitment to growth isn’t just for full time employees – it’s a core part of their culture. Our time there taught me not only about insurance but also about what makes a workplace really inspiring. Both mine and Luca’s time at Macbeth was invaluable, showing us the impact of a supportive, family orientated culture paired with high professionalism.

We learned so much about the insurance industry, client care and the value of a positive workplace. Macbeth sets a high standard for what a great company should be, and I’m truly grateful for the experience that I’ve gained throughout this insightful week.
