The whole world of financial advice, both for individuals and for businesses has changed dramatically over recent years. Much of this has been driven, and continues to be driven, by legislative change.

Independent financial advice is very much to the fore. No longer can financial products be sold on a vested-interest commission basis. Pensioners are being given the freedom to look beyond annuities to invest their retirement funds, and businesses are having to gear themselves up for auto-enrolment, to help make better provision for individuals’ retirement funds in the future. All of these initiatives require independent financial advice to be sought.

When we expanded our business to include financial services, we looked to provide the same personal approach we offer throughout all our services. Simon Claxton, Managing Director of the Financial Services side of Macbeth, is a highly experienced independent financial adviser who has worked on a non-commission, fee-basis for many years. Now the whole market has moved to this way of providing advice.
