Supporting Alexander Devine: Our charity of the year since 2024

December 30, 2025

With 2026 just around the corner, we wanted to pause and share something we’re incredibly proud of.

Over the past year, the Macbeth team has been fundraising for our Charity of the Year, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, we’ve raised £4,790 for the charity this year, bringing our total contribution to an incredible £24,072 since we began our support in 2024.

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service provides specialist care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as vital support for their families, across Berkshire, South Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties. We’re incredibly proud to support a charity that makes such a meaningful difference to families when they need it most.

Since beginning our partnership with Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice in 2024, we have been proud to support them and be part of the positive impact they create. The partnership has been both rewarding and enjoyable, reinforcing our business values and strengthening our sense of shared purpose. Working alongside Alexander Devine has brought our team together and allowed us to contribute beyond our day-to-day work. We are grateful for our partnership and would like to say a sincere thank you for the important work they do and for allowing us to be part of it.” Sian Barrett, HR Manager.

Fundraising Highlights: A Timeline

Since Alexander Devine became our Charity of the Year, colleagues across the business have taken part in a wide range of fundraising activities. Below are some of our favourite moments from the journey so far.

June 2024: Fire Walk

A number of the Macbeth team took on the challenge of a fire walk, stepping well outside their comfort zones to raise funds and awareness for Alexander Devine. A powerful demonstration of teamwork, courage and commitment.

April 2025: The Big Chick Knit

Team Macbeth supported Alexander Devine’s Big Chick Knit campaign by volunteering time and skills to help assemble knitted Easter chicks. The initiative raised funds while highlighting the scale and impact of the hospice’s work.

May 2025: Charity Bake Off

Our annual Bake Off returned, with teams across the business baking, competing and donating in support of the charity. A fun, inclusive fundraiser that brought plenty of friendly competition (and cake). Congratulations to our winners Michael and Rachael, who took home the Star Baker aprons.

June 2025: Rock the Blue

We proudly supported #RockTheBlue with a week of fundraising activities, including themed lunches, merchandise sales and a Wear It Blue day. Several team members also volunteered at a pop-up toy sale, helping raise vital funds for the hospice.

September 2025: Sponsored Silence

Colleagues took part in a Sponsored Silence, giving up conversation and social media for the day. The challenge raised funds while standing in solidarity with children and families whose voices are often unheard. Who knew silence could be so powerful?

October 2025: Pumpkin Carving Competition

Our Halloween pumpkin carving competition brought creativity and fundraising together, with teams carving, voting and donating in support of Alexander Devine.

December 2025: Christmas Knits & Christmas Jumper Day

We rounded off the year with festive fundraising favourites, including Christmas knits and a Christmas Jumper Day, helping support the hospice during one of its busiest times of year.

Thank you

A special thank you to our charity team for their energy and commitment throughout the year, and to everyone who donated, took part, or supported our efforts along the way. We’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved.
